    Default What to do?

As a league secretary I had this problem during this season. We are match point & handicapped league. On the written recap sheet it had name in a different position compare to the computer recap sheet I got from the center. But had the right scores for each the individuals. So what would you do with this problem? Do you use written recap sheet or what the computer recap sheet? I got answer both ways from Local USBC Associations to the National USBC. The way I went was the computer recap sheet way sense people do make mistakes. I could be wrong but it didn’t have factor in quarter that it was in. I don’t know if will happen next bowling season but I like if I was right or wrong.

If there is a mistake, it must be corrected.
The best way to know exactly who bowled and in what position is to have the center print the scores from the lanes in question from the front desk computer of the scoring system.

If the center is using BLS and is importing the scores from the scoring system into BLS, be sure they check the option on score import to have BLS reorder the bowlers to match what the order was on the lanes. That way, BLS will put the bowlers in the proper order for match points (if the bowlers changed their lineup). Then when a "reprint of scores" is done from their copy of BLS, it will match the order they bowled.

Remember that your job is to insure things are correct. If the bowlers do stupid things, you need to correct it. While they may not thank you for doing a good job, they will complain if you let their mistakes go through.

Is this in the manual how to import from the lanes and reorder them? If not, can you tell me how so I can tell the center how to do it?

    Thanks

It is an unbelievably obvious option right on the screen where they click the button to import scores.

Sounds like they are not doing any secretary work. Otherwise, they would HAVE to set that option for a match point league for their standings to be right.

Thanks for the answer. The only thing he does the prints recaps & standing sheets for the league. He is so busy as an owner he just imports the scores to program not checking for new bowler or rules infractions. The only thing he checks on the written recap are the scores if they don’t equal. So most the time there isn’t any mistakes it just becomes a burden when there is a mistake or rules infractions. That’s where I come in I find the mistakes and half to have them fix before league night. That’s how all this got started all I wanted the display recaps printed. I wish I could do the importing myself so I know it is done right, But I can’t. All I know these things I ask and other people’s questions make my secretary easier each year I do it. Again thanks for all the responses.
