If you are an Earthlink customer (or with an ISP owned by Earthlink), you will most likely never receive email or responses to your email.

Why?? Earthlink provides a wonderful "feature" that will prevent any email coming into your account unless you preapprove the email address. If you do not preapprove the email, Earthlink will block you from receiving your email from us until an automated email response from Earthlink is responded to by requiring a human to visit a specific website and enter follow a set of instructions on a page.

Lance,

I utilize the Earthlink email system. Allow me explain what happens on the "Receiver's" end. The email is placed in a folder on the web email account called "Suspect Mail". This is a holding folder that I, as the user, can view and accept or delete any emails that are from people that haven't been added to my approved list.

You, as the sender, get an auto response that tells you to fill out the form, but it really isn't necessary. Once I view your email and instruct Earthlink to "Move the email to my Inbox, and Add the Sender to my Address Book", you are approved for any future emails and you won't get the auto response anymore.

Greg,

thanks for providing a good explanation of this. Hopefully our Earthlink customers will take advantage of that.
